추억의 팝송 Puff the magic dragon

굿모닝팝스를 듣다가 우연히 듣게된 음악 “Puff the magic dragon”.

멜로디가 어렸을적부터 많이 들어봤던 거라 무척 익숙한데다, 찾아보니 가사도 서정적이고 뭉클한 내용이었다.

통기타를 배우기 시작할때부터 익숙하던 이런 식의 코드흐름은 왠지 흥겹고 기분을 즐겁게 해준다.

가사가 조금은 쉽지 않은 단어들이라 처음 들었을때 알아듣긴 힘들었지만 해석본을 놓고 보니 대충 들리는 편이다.

코드가 단순하긴 한데 해보면 대충 따라할수도 있을듯…

이런거에 또 꽂혀버려서… 주말에 기타 꺼내들고 흥얼거려 봐야겠다. 재미있는 놀이거리가 또 생겨뜸! ㅎㅎ

Noble kings and princess would bow when there they came.

Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name.   
해적선들도 퍼프가 그들의 이름을 고함쳐 부르면 꼬리를 내렸지.

용은 영원히 살지만, 꼬마는 그럴수 없었지.  
Painted wings and giants rings make way for other toys.   
색칠한 날개와 거인의 반지들은 다른 장난감에 밀려나고..

재키 페이퍼는 더 이상 오지 않았다네.  
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.   
그리고 거대한 용, 퍼프의 용감한 표효소리는 더이상 들리지 않았지.  
His head was bent in sorrow.  
그는 슬픔으로 고개를 떨구었고.  
Grief scales fell like rain  
가여운 비늘은 비처럼 떨어졌지.  
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.   
퍼프는 이제 더 이상 체리나무 오솔길에 놀러가지 않아.   
Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave.  
오랜 친구가 사라져 퍼프는 더이상 용감하지도 않다네.  
So Puff that mighty dragon, sadly slipped into his cave.   
그리고 거대한 용, 퍼프는 슬픔에 자신의 동굴로 들어가버렸지.
